selected this year are four titles at a good pace:

A girl (drawn with a computer and colors) that plays in a fairytale forest (shaded colors and made with paint) misses a ball and chasing her into the forest and meets a bear story and a bird with who share games, excitement and adventure. After several sequences we see the baby bear says goodbye and leaves the story that bears reading. Two planes for a single narrative history. Interesting and suggestive.


The personification of the feelings is very wise to count the smaller the mood for an adult who becomes aggressive and unsociable. With a mixture of innocence and irony, the Mexican author portrays a troubled family situation that becomes kind by the presence of a girl determined to save her father from stress. The solution lies in the realm of the affections, with a final kind that brings out the absurd concerns of adults. The illustrations, which combine collage and pencil especially in soft tones, winks entered the world of art, film and advertising, and hide intentionally father figure that bear only shows its long shadow while angry, to an idyllic image of the final film actor.


The story of Little Red Riding Hood revisited from the humor and through a plot that is maintained until the end. A grandmother's house in the darkest night comes the wolf tricked ready to eat. But the grandmother, apparently deaf, does not understand the caller's name and refuses to open the door. The wolf invents a thousand names and trickery, but Grandma does not open and when they seem to understand, after the wolf desperate door does not work. The illustration done with linoleum driving alone black, gray and red is very expressive and convincing. In this work, so complete is added to match the font that is growing with increasing desperation of the wolf. This book won the Baobab in Montreuil.

These short stories written in the manner of fables, they are featuring animals, always pose a moral conflict: the desire for power, over time, the value of friendship, envy or jealousy ... In all we see the protagonists, the human transcript, interact and live with their doubts and problems. His capacity for synthesis, precise and careful writing makes this text a literary gem. Some stay afloat, others make us doubt, almost all think and conclude from the complexity of human behavior. The illustrations are almost always humorous and ironic, pure colors, added concern and sense of texts.
